Hala is a Communications, Research, and Analysis intern working with the Business Development team at SDDirect. She has just completed her bachelor's degree in Global Development at SOAS University of London.

Hala has previous experience as a research intern on a ‘decolonizing the curriculum’ project within the SOAS Development Studies Department. Her experience also includes being a Conference Coordinator for the London Development Symposium, the largest student-led international development conference in Europe.

Hala is passionate about the intersections of development, especially the relationship between political economy and social and climate justice. She is particularly interested in development within the MENA region.
