Callum has extensive project, programme, and fund management experience within the International Development sector. Joining Social Development Direct in June 2023 as Programme Manager, he is providing parental leave cover on the What Works 2 programme, a seven-year initiative funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) to improve prevention and response to violence against women and girls.

Prior to this, Callum was a Performance and Risk Manager on two large scale FCDO funds (UK Aid Match and UK Aid Direct) where he provided technical and project management support to a £17 million varied portfolio of FCDO funded projects. These ranged from small scale community-based organisation to large INGO’s, with projects working across many themes including livelihoods, water and sanitary health, environment and resilience, health, and peace building. Particular strengths within this role were project management and M&E.

Callum also has experience in environmental sustainability having been seconded to a sustainability service providing support to small businesses and civil society organisations to strengthen their environmental sustainability. He has a diploma in corporate sustainability and is a member of Social Development Directs Eco committees.


Callum has a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations and a Masters of Arts in International Relations. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, baking, and most other creative pursuits.
