Climate Change and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Training

SDDirect designed and delivered a training for the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre on integrating gender equality and social inclusion within their work supporting the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and its partners in reducing the impacts of climate change and extreme-weather events on socially excluded people.

What is Climate Change and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Training?

SDDirect designed and delivered a mandatory training course on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion that was tailored to the needs of the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre. We supported the Climate Centre to increase the fluency of all staff on GESI within their work supporting the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and its partners in reducing the impacts of climate change and extreme-weather events on vulnerable people. The trainings covered introductions to key concepts, key overlaps between GESI and climate change, mainstreaming GESI, amongst other areas. We worked with Climate Centre colleagues to build an understand of training needs and to produce engaging trainings for people with different levels of experience and understanding on GESI.
