Veronica Martinez Tamayo has over 8 years’ experience in international development operational management. Veronica is responsible for designing and implementing project management structures, coordinating delivery and all aspects of internal and external financial and narrative reporting throughout her projects. She has established management and research skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Since joining SDDirect, she has been responsible for the management of a variety of complex projects, acting as Project Manager on the FCDO-funded Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub (RSH) and on demand-lead projects (Helpdesks) for the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) including the What Works to Prevent Violence Against Women: Impact at Scale’s Ending Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Helpdesk projects, the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Helpdesk and the Work Opportunities for Women Helpdesk. In addition, Veronica supports the delivery of evidence reviews and desk-based research on FCDO and UNICEF Helpdesk services on Gender-Based Violence.
Prior to this Veronica carried out qualitative research on the prevention and mitigation of violence against women in Mexico. She has also coordinated the implementation of grant schemes in volatile contexts on the Afghanistan Business Innovation Fund (ABIF), where she established knowledge of managing grant funds to start-up corporate entities. Veronica holds a MSc in International Development, Poverty and Inequality and a BSc in Political Science.
