Stefania joined SDDirect in 2022 where she oversees company operations, compliance, and risk management and is responsible for project delivery and performance.
With a strong track record in complex project management, programme strategy, and team leadership, Stefania brings over fifteen years of experience designing, implementing, and advising social and economic development programmes sponsored by Governments, the World Bank, the United Nations, and other public and private donors and investors.
She previously worked as a country programme manager with Save the Children, specialising in food security, economic empowerment and livelihoods interventions, and as a Technical Officer for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), where she contributed to strengthening organisational approaches to social safeguards and gender equality. Earlier in her career, Stefania also worked as an independent researcher for the University of Oxford’s Centre for Research on Inequality, Human Security and Ethnicity (CRISE) where she co-authored a book on the history and political economy of large natural resource revenues in Latin America and Africa, analysing their effects on economic growth, institutional development, social cohesion, and conflict.
Stefania holds an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Oxford and a double BA in International Studies and Political Science from the University of Washington, Seattle.
