Anna joined SDDirect’s technical team in August 2022 and is a Principal Consultant in the Safeguarding Portfoilo.
Anna brings over 15 years of experience in the international development and humanitarian aid sector. During this time, Anna worked with a range NGOs, UN agencies and in consulting roles in development and humanitarian settings. Her primary focus has been on protection programming, including gender-based violence and child protection, as well as on organisational safeguarding and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse and sexual harassment (PSEAH). This includes digital safeguarding and child protection online.
Anna has a strong track record in developing policies, procedures, tools and associated guidance that are practical and appropriate for the intended context and users. Some of her recent work includes leading the development of an extensive library of accessible safeguarding resources for the Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub (RSH); advising on the development of safeguarding policies, procedures and frameworks for specific clients in diverse contexts; and providing training and coaching to different audiences on safeguarding.
Anna has a particular interest in protection from digital harms. She has successfully embedded digital considerations and risks into general safeguarding policies and procedures. Also, she has developed specific digital safeguarding guidance and supported the safe delivery of child protection online programmes.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys long walks and exploring with her young children. Anna is currently based in Denmark (since 2018), she previously lived in South Africa (2014-2018) and Pakistan (2011-2014).
