Mandy is an SDDirect Senior Associate and leading quantitative researcher with 20 years experience of survey statistics in social policy/gender research. She has extensive experience in collecting and analysing data from numerous sources - surveys on crime and victimisation, housing need, poverty, health and well-being, as well as national statistics, monitoring data and administrative datasets. Mandy was formerly lead data analyst on the Scottish Household Survey and delivers the complex datasets for the UK Department for Education's Annual Childcare Survey, for Ipsos MORI.

Her portfolio includes quantitative analysis for DFID (education in Ethiopia with a gender focus) and Plan UK (multi-country girls education data for modelling attitudes to girls' education and perceptions of violence in school as part of the Plan Building Skills for Life 3-Year Review). She has also developed M&E tools on Violence against Women and Girls (in Zimbabwe, for DFID through the VAWG Helpdesk) and Results Frameworks for the World Bank (on the Comprehensive African Agriculture Development Program - CAADP). She conducted survey analysis for DFID's programme on Enhancing Financial Innovation & Access (EFiNA) as part of SDDirect's Study on Economic Opportunities for women and girls in Northern Nigeria.

She was formerly Associate Director in TNS Social Research and a Research Fellow at Glasgow University. Mandy is an Honorary Fellow with i-SPHERE (Institute for Social Policy, Housing, Environment and Real Estate) at Heriot Watt University.
