Ann leads SDDirect’s work on safeguarding which includes work on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), child safeguarding and wider issues around bullying and harassment.
Ann has a MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development and a BA in International Relations and Politics. She has worked extensively on safeguarding, gender-based violence (GBV) and child protection, focusing on research, technical support, programme implementation, and production of guidance documents.
Some of Ann’s previous work has included developing guidelines and an implementation strategy for the Asian Development Bank on sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH), working as the Capacity Development Lead on FCDO’s flagship safeguarding programme the Resource and Support Hub (RSH), Safeguarding Lead on the Civil Society Support Programme for Ethiopia (CSSP2) where she set up safeguarding systems to support local civil society organisations to implement safeguarding minimum standards and she also set up the safeguarding system on the Girl’s Education Challenge Programme (GEC).
In her spare time Ann enjoys ultrarunning and hiking in the mountains.
