Hiru joined Social Development Direct in January 2020 as part of the Programmes team and has worked across a wide range of thematic areas over many different projects of varying sizes and complexity.
Hiru has broad experience providing project management support to FCDO-funded flagships Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub (RSH) and the Disability Inclusion Helpdesk under the Disability Inclusive Development programme. She also has experience in developing and rolling out policy and process improvements across programme finances, procurement, logistics and compliance.
Prior to this Hiru was involved in the management of a number of programmes under the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) including CSSF Global Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL), a 3 year programme with the primary objective of implementing effective MEL practices across the entire CSSF portfolio; and the CSSF West Africa; a programme that generates and communicates information about the impact of programmes in West Africa to inform the design and prioritisation of future programming. Hiru is also familiar with the programme management systems of other multilateral donors, including the Asian Development Bank.
Prior to joining SDDirect, Hiru worked for a Tax Return company, as a Financial Administrator/MARCOM Project Coordinator. Hiru holds a Masters Degree in Project Management with a PRINCE2 Practitioner certificate and has a BSc in Computer Science and Information Technology.
