Naomi is a Technical Specialist who works across our Governance and Inclusive Societies and Gender-based Violence portfolios. She primarily focuses on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), women’s political participation, and preventing Gender-based Violence (GBV) in conflict and humanitarian contexts.

Naomi has worked on several multi-year programmes including as a researcher across the VAWG Helpdesk, the GBV in Emergencies Helpdesk, and the Disability Inclusive Development Helpdesk. She has also worked as a technical advisor on the CSSF Global Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) programme, designing and delivering guidance and MEL tools. Naomi managed the delivery of a guidance note to support the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, and National Police implement their National Action Plan on WPS. One of her key contributions to this was leading the development of a framework for facilitating women’s participation in grassroots peacebuilding and in Danish security forces. This was informed by interviews with women within the Danish Military and with women peacebuilders on the ground in Yemen.

Naomi previously worked in South Sudan on a girls’ education programme where she was seconded to the Government of the Republic of South Sudan to support the development of their 5-year girls’ education strategy. During this time, she also volunteered with a girls’ choir that supported former street children and survivors of violence.

In her spare time Naomi enjoys singing in a choir, dancing and gardening.
